Job Description:
As a Carrier Development Rep, you will be working in our Logistics Brokerage Division and supporting a motivated and enthusiastic professional team.
The position will be responsible for the development, booking and relations for our client’s expedited and truckload brokerage carriers. You will oversee and assist in the shipping sourcing, price negotiations, service delivery and overall management of carriers.

Responsibilities:
Analyze market trends through company shipment history, carrier contact and other related data to better understand the market for both expedite and truckload brokerage.
Negotiate short term and spot market rates with carriers to secure and develop capacity to meet customer's shipping needs.
Manage carrier cost and service.
Manage and assist in the onboarding of both expedite and truckload brokerage carriers on a daily timely manner.
Strategically match freight with available carrier partner equipment to customer loads.
Conduct regular business reviews with core expedite and truckload brokerage carriers, customer service and sales team.
Continually build market knowledge to understand rates through proactively learning about the industry and staying current on market trends (i.e., reading industry publications)
Knowledgeable of the Company's targeted capacity, including common lanes, shipping, receiving locations, and common trailer types.
Exceed development of Carrier Development Group KPI's and metrics.
Interact with multiple departments and assist in the development of carriers to meet those needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers built on consistent, open, honest, and transparent communication.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or similar field.
1-2 years relevant experience in Sales, Customer Service, or Supply Chain.
Outside sales experience or experience in the Transportation or Logistics industry a plus
