Job Description:
As a Carrier Sales Manager, you will be working with the assigned team to expand the carrier network. You will be responsible for negotiating carrier rates, building relationships, onboarding new carriers, carrier compliance, database tracking, and pairing carriers with the company’s common lanes and shipments. The role provides earnings potential and allows recruiters to play an impactful role in our organization.
Functions and Tasks:
- Build and develop existing carrier relationships
- Grow relationships with carriers based on the company’s business needs to secure additional capacity to meet the demands of the customer service and sales team
- Work in collaboration with the customer service team to ensure continuous flow of business to the company’s carrier network
- Negotiate rates with carriers to secure efficient capacity to meet company business needs.
- Provide key insight on market trends and pricing to the customer service and sales team
- Assist with the execution of customer RFQs
- Work with the sales team to maximize department efforts to match customers’ needs with carrier regions of coverage.
- Develop a deep understanding of markets including seasonal freight
- Knowledgeable of the Company’s targeted capacity including, common lanes, shipping and receiving locations, and common trailer types.
- Maintain carrier information in company’s system databases including location, equipment type, availability, and contacts.
- Manage new carrier onboarding process to ensure smooth transition, monitor that detailed data entry in the company’s system includes common lanes, available equipment, and optimal points of contact.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or similar field.
Experience Required:
- 1-2 years relevant experience in Sales, Customer Service, or Supply Chain.
- Outside sales experience or experience in the Transportation or Logistics industry a plus
