Who we welcome for this job

As Over the Road Dispatcher, you are the primary contact for Company Drivers load planning and equipment assignation. Communication with the Driver Managers is critical to guarantee the success of effective uptime asset and company driver utilization. Coordinate the departure of Company trucks and drivers in an efficient and timely manner. Other critical essential duties include collaboration with the Safety Department to reduce the DOT violation percentages. The following updated responsibilities guide you on the ongoing action plan to achieve a successful outcome in your job performance.

For this Job:

• Oversees the daily workflow of your assigned fleet.
• Trucks Assignation and Driver onder your control.
• Coordinate Loads availability for drivers.
• Plan your drives based on they HOS availability.
• Negociate Spot market loads for your fleet at the best rate possible.
• Maximize profitability for your fleet.
• Dispatch drivers with current assignments.
• Tack and trace loads (Update Brokers or CSR).
• Maintain constant communication with Drivers under his or her supervision.
• Driver retention: Build a personal relashionship with drivers based on trust and empathy. (They need to trust on his dispatcher in order to retain them with us). Coach drivers, educate drivers. Show them the best options in the market to maximize their profitability. Schedule their PTA and PTO together with OO. To meet his goals and needs.
• Supervise the safety operation of your drivers.
• Plan or assign loads feasibles for drivers, based on their HOS; Coordinate appointments needed with CSR/Broker based on driver’s transit needs.
• Superpervise and traine your Driver managers to control (HOS) for drivers under your supervission.
• Commit to receiver available Safety Training designed for our team.
• Help couching DM’s to understand the hours-of-service and regulations if needed.
• Other duties that might be needed from time to time.
• Response to other task requested from Management.
• Help other team members and coach them to improve their performance.
• Be personally involved on solutions for Drivers or driver coaching when help is needed.
• Help training other departaments team members and new prospects.
• Any other help needed requested within the weekly work shift.

• Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties.
• Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time.
• Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances.
• Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment.
