Job Description:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records You must be familiar with full cycle accounting and understand all the processes and documents necessary to produce financial statements for a reporting period. Other job duties include reconciling bank and credit card statements, tracking fixed assets, assisting with payroll, and preparing tax returns.
The position works closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties. The role will report to the Head of Accounting and Financing in the Company.

Responsibilities:
Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger system and department heads.
Assist, analyze and verify information from general ledger system and department heads.
Submit all accounting-related information data into the accounting module of the transportation management system TMS – McLeod Software.
Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting systems for financial transactions.
Maintaining and balance the general ledger and financial transactions consolidation system.
Streamlining AR and AP functions by maintaining/coding applicable transactions and supporting communication on discrepancies
Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information on month-end close procedures.
Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining and recording and files.
Ad-hock projects given by upper management as needed.
Participate in team planning meetings.
Meet defined department goals and activity metrics.
Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures.
Perform tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounting Department as needed
Experience:
Degree in finance and/or accounting
2+ years of professional accounting experience
Solid time management and analytical skills
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Vendor and customer reconciliations experience
Strict attention to detail, highly organized, and efficient
